I am Obsessed

Finished Lesson 7 for Aim for Accuracy 2 (A4A2) it was to make two blocks and join one of them to 4 other blocks. I am really glad I picked the 2 fat quarter  bundles.

Now why I am obsessed. I love fabric scraps and I save all my scraps and take scraps from my friends. After I cut up the scraps into usable sizes I am left with strings and crumbs of fabric. I have made one String Quilt from these so far but still have many many little pieces of fabric in two baskets and a few plastic bags. Well I have joined a new Quilt Alone called Scrap Vortex by the Crazy Quilt Mom. The first week I took many of these scraps, pressed and starched them and sewed them into pairs. This week I sewed those pairs into bigger pairs. I still have many more pairs to sew together to make my Scrap Vortex quilt even lap size but I will be doing that over the next few weeks. So I wanted to share a picture of the pairs up on my design wall. Well it is colorful isn't it?

Happy Stitching All

Yes, but it is a good obsession. I love the purple squares. My favorite color.

Thanks for responding to my question about scraps on the Scrap Vortex Quilt Along. I checked out Bonnie Hunter's scrap system and it makes a lot of sense. I really need to move the 'scraps' out of my stash and into a more usable system.
Your blue and white quilt is lovely. Your Scrap Vortex pieces are similar looking to mine with brights and black and white for contrast.
