Quilting update for May

Wow its been a while since I posted.
I finished my Grandson's quilts and they are winging the way to Missouri. My daughter is going to Skype me when they open the box so I can see the boys unwrap their quilts. Not as good as being there but the best I can do right now.
The first set of tubes before they were cut.
I have deboned the shirts I had for the second had store and have started working on a scrappy Trips quilt, it's a free pattern from Bonnie Hunter over at her Quiltville's blog. I have 6 blocks done so far so I still have a few to go. I am just using the backs of the shirts so far and I have cut up enough strips to make 18 or 19 12 inch blocks.
First 6 blocks

Still have a lot more cutting and sewing to do but it will wait till next week. My friend Karen is coming this weekend so the quilt room is going back to being the guest room for a few days.

Such beautiful squares and a great idea to use old shirts.
