Art Class

I took another Oil Painting class on Monday. I did a beach scene and I think I like it, but I see where I over did it with the grasses. But I did learn a few new technique's which is why I go to the classes. I think it looks pretty good on the wall with my other water scenes.

I also dug in my frame box and found the frames for both the Traveling Patterns that I finished in the last two months. Now I must get them pressed and mounted and into these frames so they can go on my wall.

Happy Stitching and don't forget to sign up for the "Count Your Blessings" Traveling Pattern. I will draw the winner on Friday the 15th.

Finished and ready to travel again

Count your Blessings is done and the pattern is ready to travel to Stitcher number 27. I enjoyed stitching this Shakespeare's Peddler pattern and will be looking for just the right finish for it. I wanted it small so I stitched it on 28 count mystery fabric over one, it came out great. I only changed one color since I didn't have DMC 612 so  I used DMC 611.
If you would like to be the next stitcher please leave me a comment and I will pick a winner on February 15th.

Just for fun this year I have added a list of the books I have read or listened to since New Years. I am going to see if I can keep this up for the year to see just how much I do read or listen to. I am just starting the Arcane Society book series by Amanda Quick/ Jayne Ann Krentz, there are 12 books in the series. Half of them are historical and the rest are present day, but since historical's aren't my thing I'll see if I get through them.

Happy Stitching Everyone.

Update

OK I know I'm late posting my update but I have been fighting with a laptop problem and Dell Support. They are great but they can't seem to get this laptop fixed and they have already replaced the memory, hard drive and mother board. Don't know why they can't fix it, heck there is nothing left to replace.  Oh well on to my update.

So last weekend I worked on "Pot 4 Dickie" and "Count Your Blessings", poor "Mary Wigham" stayed in the basket. Here are my progress pictures, Hope to finish CYB in a day or two than get to "MW" and the "Celtic Wedding Sampler".

Count Your Blessings , have to finish the fence and lettering than the pattern will be ready to travel again.

Pot 4 Dickie, finished a band and a half only 13 more to go.

I also got a very nice present. I thought my friend Sharliena was sending me the rooster pattern for the great rooster she had been working on before I moved to Florida. Well I opened the package and there was the finished rooster in all is glory. It is beautiful and she did a great job on it. I will get it framed and hang it in my dining room with my rooster collection. I love it, the back stitching really makes the feathers and wood grain pop out.

The Traveling Pattern is ready to travel again.

Happy Holiday's everyone. I was able to start and finish the Lizzie Kate Life's a Stitch pattern over the weekend. I will be making it in to a small pillow, I think. But I wanted to get the information posted so I can start collecting stitcher's who would like to join the other nineteen stitcher's and me to become one of the Hooked on Stitching blogs Traveling Pattern Stitcher's. Where else can we send this cute pattern?
Post a comment on this post and tell others stitcher's to do the same and I will pick a comment on January 2nd to be the next stitcher in our traveling pattern chain.

Life's A Stitch Travelling Pattern

I received the pattern for Life's A Stitch traveling pattern from Jan at Stitching Cats this week tucked in side my Christmas card from Jan and her Husband.  I've picked out my floss and material and hope to start it on Tuesday after my company leaves. I want to thank Angela at Hooked on Stitches for starting this pattern around this year. I am the twenty stitcher to have the pattern and it's been around the world and I hope to keep it going into 2013. I will let you all know when it is finished and have a drawing to send it's on its way somewhere else.

This weekend I am going to work on the Celtic Wedding Sampler as soon as I finish picking out a little more. The FROGS hit me in Florida with a ton of mean RIPpit RIPit RIPit, guess they were mad since I moved down here to Florida this year hopeing to get rid of the critters.

Happy Stitching everyone and stay safe this Holiday Season.
